International Women's Day

We celebrated International Women's Day: Inspire Inclusion with Atlassian, Auror, WSP, Vista Group, Sandfield, and EY 🎉

We would especially like to thank Atlassian for sponsoring our International Women's Day event for the past two years!

Jeanelle Ooi, Min Khanthee, and Sarah Bateman from Auror gave us some great insight into the gender ratio in crime (we need to do better, girls 💪) as well as their own experiences of inclusivity at Auror.

Annise from WSP really gave us something to think about. When we think of feminism, we often picture strong, and powerful women in charge. But it doesn't always have to be like that! We can embrace our feminine side of us and still be strong, and independent. Plus, I do like being girly ✨

From Vista, Nijal, Claire, and Angela joined us for the event. 50% of their 2023 interns were women, which I found very impressive, because it truly shows how conscientious they were when selecting interns. I can't wait to see them progress further!

Chalu, and Rissa from Sandfield, I'd like to congratulate you guys again for having a girl's bathroom You guys had the funniest presentation 😂

And of course, Marion from Atlassian! Thank you again for being the biggest supporter of ASW. Marion's presentation guided us through the application process for Atlassian, which was very helpful! Also, we should keep asking her what programming language she knows 😆

Pushti, and Raman join us from EY, our biggest sponsor of the year! Pushti is part of the AUT gang 🤟 If you're interested in cybersecurity, EY is the place to go :)

I can't forget Nicky from the Development Foundation. Her workshop was just so impactful. We were running out of time by the end so it had to be cut short, but it was still really fun! Team Red was so fire 🔥

Last but not least, our ASW team! Rochelle, Jamie, Jamie, Shushmita, and Nadia (yes, we have two Jamies). We were all nervous because this was our first event of the year but I think we did a great job.
